The Canadian Neurophysiological Sciences Organization was founded to create a diverse network of neurophysiology professionals across Canada and internationally and give its members support and representation. At its core, our Mission is as follows:

  • to develop and maintain a network of neurophysiology professionals.
  • to uphold strong moral and ethical practices.
  • to provide continuing educational opportunities for the membership.
  • to liaison with other national and international organizations to work together toward common goals and objectives.
  • to advocate for Canadian national registrations first (where they exist), ie: CBRET and BRETC.
  • to advocate for and protect the public by providing exemplary services of the highest standard.
  • to liaison with government where necessary on matters of importance to the members.
  • to follow strict technical standards as outlined by the appropriate organization including The Canada Association of Electroneurophysiology Technologists (C.A.E.T., Inc.), The Canadian Board of Registration of Electroencephalograph Technologists, Inc. (C.B.R.E.T., Inc), The Association of Electromyography Technologists (A.E.T.C.), The Board of Registration for Electromyography Technologist of Canada (B.R.E.T.C.), The Neurodiagnostic Society (A.S.E.T.), The Board of Neurodiagnostic Credentialing and Accreditation (A.B.R.E.T.), The Board of Registered Polysomnographic Technologists (B.R.P.T.), The Nerve Conduction Society (A.A.E.T.), and The American Board of Electrodiagnostic Medicine (ABEM).
